How to replace windshield wipers ? Sounds simple but if you havn't done it before you need some help. After all nobodys born knowing this stuff

You also need to know some pitfalls to avoid.

• Never take off a wiper blade and leave the exposed wiper arm away from the windscreen
• lower it gently back against the glass

Remember, the wiper blades are “sprung” so if you left them up. Anybody could accidently tap the arm and before you could blink you would hear the most expensive sounding crack.

This type of mistake could cost you a small fortune with a broken windshield .

A Top Tip to extend the life of a wiper blade

To extend the life of your wiper blades use rubbing alcohol or an alcohol wipe to clean the length of the rubber blades,

Doing this very simple trick both cleans the blades and conditions the rubber. You will find this slows the process of the rubber disintegrating, and therefore lengthens the life of the blade.

You could perform an experiment for scientific purposes simply by taking an alcohol wipe and cleaning the blade of the passenger side of a friends car. Done regularly it will be amusing to see their reaction to the fact that the blade that last longest is always the one they don´t need!
