Searching the web for online car repair manuals? I have spent a lot of time on this time wasting exercise. The ones that said they were free turned out to need a payment. And that was after massive drilling down into the sites. A frustrating experience on the internet that uses up oceans of time, I felt I had put so much work in to the research I nearly weakened and bought the thing!

it seemed to take ages to come up with nothing at the end, Although I did see some that were a lot better than others.

In retrospect looking for online car repair manuals was always going to be a tough order.

In fact my research has revealed that manuals from companies such as BMW are Currently not available to consumers by request of BMW.

This is particularly upsetting in my case as, yes you've guessed it, I own a BMW 316i

In the end I suggest you do exactly what I did, I found an excellent choice of pre owned manuals on ebay for the cost of a bottle of wine.

In the end I felt they would serve me better than an online manual, first because I am able to write in little notes as work progresses.

This one thing using a paper manual has saved my bacon on several occasions making things clear to ME and not just the person who wrote the repair manual in the first place

especially when I need extra little reassembly instructions!

Having said all that, the convenience of downloading online repair manuals and the ability of access at your fingertips would be great!

After I stopped to think about it I realized you just cannot see anyone spending the enormous amount of time producing a free online auto repair manual and keeping it continuously updated for so many makes and models for FREE.
